Who Are We?

Picture
Lisa Kessler has over 20 years experience in sales and marketing, specializing in building long-term customer relationships. When her first novel released in 2011, she discovered how much of the marketing and promotion falls onto the author’s shoulders, and started developing ways to build her readership through social media. Using both her background in sales and her experience as a published author, Lisa will be helping Author Elf to recognize areas where authors need the most support, giving them more time to focus on that next book proposal.

Ken Kessler has spent over 25 years in the radio business, writing and producing morning radio shows. During that time, his TV Trivia Book was published and he too, learned to harness social media to help promote his brand. Being in the radio business, time and scheduling are paramount. Ken will be using his detail-oriented scheduling skills to help authors stay on top of their brand, while they focus on writing their next book.

What is Author Elf?

If you’ve ever had a child involved in Girl Scouts, you’ve probably heard the story about the Brownie Elf. Two children want to find an elf to help their grandmother and the wise owl sends them to a lake, but all they see in the water’s reflection are themselves.  They become the helper elves, cleaning their grandmother’s kitchen every day before she gets up.

As an author myself, I’m keenly aware that we’re pulled in 50 directions all at once. Between book deadlines, edits, and folding laundry, when do we have time to update our website and add that new release that comes out next week?  And what about the author newsletter you promised yourself would go out monthly and it’s become bi-seasonal?

We need an office assistant, but most of us can’t afford the manpower.

But what if we had an elf working behind the scenes and filling in the gaps for us?

That’s where we come in.

Every author is different. Some authors need more help with updating their website, some need help writing that pesky newsletter, some just need a reminder that it’s time to post another blog.

We think you should only pay for what you need.

Sound helpful?  We hope so!
